Give us tools! Building on the introductory course in Practical Art of Health Center Operations (PAHCO), this second installment focuses on operationalizing successful change and provides helpful aids to guide health centers in the midst of change. We will share sample communications, sample habit helper tools as well as checklists health centers have used to manage change efforts. These tools help you avoid common pitfalls and ensure that new practices become successful habits that patients and staff can feel.
Every team has its dysfunctions but how do you practically ensure that teams are working together for a common goal, one that all staff can feel and appreciate when they’re on the front lines every day? This session is designed to build upon the core concepts shared at PAHCO and draw upon practices used by successful leadership teams around the country who have achieved success when others have stumbled.
UDS tables provide a health center with a wealth of information to plan strategically. Data submitted in the UDS is a structured tool to help evaluate the health center’s current status and inform leadership and Boards on identified needs. With the ever-changing economy, healthcare landscape, and patient needs, the UDS report can determine and support decisions to strategically expand services, renovate existing space or build a capital project. This presentation will explore each UDS table and its relevance in making strategic decisions for the future of health center planning and growth.
This session will be a practical guide for changing organizational culture to align finance and operations teams and lead the health center on the path to excellence. The session also offers best practices for building and sustaining relationships between operational and financial leadership and teams, including developing habits within the workforce to ensure culture change becomes embedded in the health center fabric.
