Kellan Baker is the Executive Director of the Whitman-Walker Institute, which is the research, policy, and education arm of Whitman-Walker, a federally qualified community health center in Washington, DC. Kellan was a consultant to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on a major 2020 report on the well-being of LGBTQI+ populations and is currently an appointed member of a National Academies committee charged with developing standards for the collection of sex, gender, and sexual orientation data for the National Institutes of Health. He holds a PhD in health policy and management from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, an MPH and MA from the George Washington University, and a BA with high honors from Swarthmore College.
