Shannon Nielson MHA, PCMH-CEE

Shannon is a Principal Consultant at CURIS Consulting. Shannon brings a wealth of expertise within the Community Health Center sector with over twenty years of experience working in various leadership positions and consulting with PCAs, HCCNs and individual health centers. Shannon’s experience within health centers began at one of Ohio’s largest FQHCs with her main focus on operations and quality. In 2014 Shannon launched the early years of CURIS consulting- a team fully dedicated to supporting FQHC’s across the nation. Over her two-decade career, Shannon has significantly improved clinical, operational, and financial performance for health centers, hospitals, PCAs, and HCCNs. She has facilitated over 400 NCQA PCMH transformations, conducted performance assessments for hundreds of community health centers, served in interim COO, CIO and CQO roles and aided networks in operationalizing clinically integrated networks. She is widely recognized as a national authority on FQHC performance and frequently delivers presentations at prominent conferences for NACHC, PCAs, NCQA, among others. Shannon is a consistent faculty member for the NACHC Operations Trainings and was the recipient of the 2021 NCQA Quality Innovation Award. With her entire career dedicated to the community health center arena, Shannon possesses an in-depth understanding of FQHCs and regulatory requirements. Shannon holds a Bachelor’s in Health Services Administration from Georgetown University and a Master’s in Health Administration from Xavier University.
