Mr. Nakano is the Vice President of Value Based Care at UW Medicine/Valley Medical Center. He has 30+ years of management experience in the health care industry. Mr. Nakano holds an MBA from the Sloan Hospital & Health Sciences Program at Cornell University and received his BA in Sociology from the University of Washington.
Mr. Nakano is active in healthcare policy and serves on numerous healthcare related non-profit boards and associations. Mr. Nakano has been involved with the health center movement for 30 years, mainly as a consumer board member. He currently serves on the Board of International Community Health Services where he has held various officer positions. He is also active on the Consumer Committee of NACHC, and previously on the Board of the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organization. He is in his third term as a Board Member of the Washington Health Benefits Exchange and serves on the Governor’s Safe Start Public Health and Health Care System Advisory Group, both appointments by Washington State Governor Inslee.
