Emily Hawes, PharmD, BCPS, CPP serves as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP), a designation from the NC Boards of Medicine and Pharmacy enabling pharmacists to provide collaborative drug therapy management, in a family medicine clinic in rural North Carolina. She is a consumer board member of a local FQHC in the mountains of western North Carolina. She is actively involved in research and teaching through her faculty positions at the UNC School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine and UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Dr. Hawes is the Deputy Director for the HRSA Teaching Heatlh Center and Rural Residency Planning and Development – Technical Assistance Centers supporting the development of over 150 new medical and dental residencies in underserved communities.
