Lorenzo Atkinson is the Director of Medical Education at Family Health Centers of San Diego. He serves as Project Manager for the Teaching Health Center Planning and Development grant at his institution. His career in graduate medical education spans over 30 years including serving as Director of Graduate Medical Education at the University of California San Francisco and Program Administrator for residency programs in anesthesiology, general surgery, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, and pediatrics. Lorenzo is TAGME©-certified and specializes in planning and development, quality improvement, and operations management. He was born and raised in Michigan and attended college at Michigan State University where he earned his B.A. in Social Science Pre-Law. Lorenzo is also a group fitness instructor and teaches group fitness classes a few times a week. He enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending quality time with his husband, daughter, dog, and cat.
