Maribel is a Spanglish speaking chicana from the orchards on the indigenous land of the Yakama & Wanapum Indigenous people in Yakima, Washington and from las Monarcas de Michoacán in the montañas of the original land stewards the Purepechas. She has personal and professional experience in health care access and health equity, education advocacy, coalition building, grassroots organizing and immigrant and refugee rights advocacy and policy reform. Maribel is currently the Community Health Improvement Program Manager at the Northwest Regional Primary Care Association and supports NWRPCA's efforts through working with partners and colegas in health care access and equity, Community Health Worker & Promotoras de Salud initiatives. In her free time, you can find Maribel enjoying time with her familia, friends and colegas with chisme sessions, on the agua, chasing the sol.
