Economic Justice Practice Group Leader, Legal Aid of Arkansas

Kevin De Liban manages the Economic Justice practice group of Legal Aid of Arkansas, working with low-income Arkansas to address legal issues involving health, employment, safety-net benefits, and education. He also regularly represents individuals facing domestic violence. With Legal Aid, he has led a successful litigation campaign in federal and state courts challenging Arkansas's use of an algorithm to cut vital Medicaid home-care benefits to individuals who have disabilities or are elderly. In addition, he and Legal Aid of Arkansas, along with the National Health Law Program and the Southern Poverty Law Center, are currently challenging Medicaid work requirements in federal court. In 2018, Kevin was a featured speaker at the AI Now Symposium, a gathering of technologists, academics, and advocates focused on ways to impose accountability on the expanding use of Artificial Intelligence and related technologies. When not practicing law, Kevin passionately creates music as a rapper.
