This session will address the importance of pharmacy services in a primary care medical home and the essential role 340B plays in enabling health centers to provide patients with comprehensive services. The basics of the program will be covered briefly to familiarize attendees who are new to 340B. Discussion will also include the ongoing assaults on the 340B program, and the resulting challenges health centers are facing. Experts will share how health centers are pivoting – both strategically and operationally – leaving no stone unturned and seizing every opportunity to best serve their patients and the communities that depend upon them. The session will conclude with a discussion of strategies at the state and federal levels to support legislative and policy initiatives that protect the integrity of the 340B program and the value it brings to the patients and communities served.
