Matthew Ritchey, PT, DPT, MPH is a Captain in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and is the Chief of the Partnerships and Evaluation Branch in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Center for Epidemiology, Surveillance, and Laboratory Services. In this role he oversees the CDC Data Hub, the Electronic Case Reporting Program, and the CDC WONDER online data sharing platform. Further, he has served the CDC COVID-19 Response in numerous positions, including currently serving as Lead of the Data, Analytics and Visualization Task Force. Previously, CAPT Ritchey led the CDC’s Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention’s Health Services and Systems Research Section and oversaw multiple surveillance and research activities supporting the national Million Hearts® initiative. In addition, he served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer and CDC Chronic Disease Epidemiology Advisor stationed at the Indiana State Department of Health.
