Melissa Torres loves to teach, learn and help people. Her 20-year career attests to that.
Mrs. Torres has worked with Greene County Health Care since 2013 – first as an enrollment specialist, then director of Outreach & Enrollment Services and today as COO.
Under her leadership, GCHC’s Outreach and Enrollment program evolved into a national leader in health insurance enrollment among farmworkers. Mrs. Torres has also served as an adjunct instructor in Spanish at Pamlico Community College.
She says this work helped her discover and develop her passion: helping those who need help the most. Giving back to the community and building relationships are her biggest rewards. She loves learning about people’s needs and struggles and then helping them find their path to joy and health.
