Dr. Rakotz serves as Vice President of Health Outcomes at the American Medical Association, where he oversees efforts to develop and implement national quality improvement initiatives aimed at preventing Cardiovascular Disease.
Prior to joining the AMA, Rakotz, a Board Certified Practicing Family Physician for more than 20 years, served as the Director of Population Health/Virtual Medicine at Northwestern. In 2014, his office earned the designation as a Million Hearts® Hypertension Control Champion.
Dr. Rakotz is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern, and a Fellow for the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT).
His research in undiagnosed hypertension began a decade ago and remains one of his passions in medicine.
