Beth Liu is responsible for the development and implementation of new policy and operations that support the Federally Facilitated Marketplaces, ensuring millions of Americans have access to quality health care coverage. She currently oversees the primary IT system that determines eligibility into the Marketplace, the single-streamlined-application on HealthCare.gov, the offline-verifications system that ensures accurate enrollment and eligibility for advance premium of tax credits, and the Federal Data Services Hub. Prior to her appointment, Beth served in the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs where she led a cross-government initiative on mental health to increase access to providers and reduce the stigma around mental health issues. Before joining Federal service, she worked at the Kaiser Family Foundation and helped launch its national newsroom, KFF Health News.
