Jonathan Porteus PhD, LCP

Dr. Jonathan Porteus has been privileged to serve others as a clinician, clinical program developer, educator, and community leader. A Licensed Clinical Psychologist, his clinical experience spans health and behavioral health integration, evidence-based practice, and research and evaluation in inpatient, outpatient, residential levels of care. His clinical program development experience ranges from specific to systems-level interventions, including the creation of a trauma-informed initial assessment for New York State Office of Mental Health to building the Outpatient Drug Treatment system for the Republic of Vietnam. As an educator, he was a tenured professor of counseling at Sacramento State and has led trainings for three decades on such topics as PTSD, complex trauma, behavioral interventions around compulsive behavior, chronic medical conditions and co-occurring disorders treatment. Dr. Porteus brings unique perspectives to the understanding of health care and delivery in California. He began his work with WellSpace Health as Clinical Director in 2002 and has been CEO since 2011.
