Former Senior Vice President, Western Operations, NACHC
Joe Gallegos joined the National Association of Community Health Centers in Washington, DC in October 2005 as the first Senior Vice President for Western Operations. Although the headquarters are based in Washington, DC, Joe resides in Albuquerque, NM and represented NACHC in western states.
He served as lead staff for the Migrant Health Program in policy and programmatic areas that serve migratory and seasonal agricultural workers. He worked with State and Regional Primary Care Associations on state-based policy and provided technical assistance on how policy impacts rural populations and community health center operations. He brings extensive experience in rural health care delivery models.
He also served as Chair of the Board for the National Association of Community Health Centers during 2003-2004. He retired in June 2020 and is enjoying retirement.
