Elena Thomas Faulkner is CEO/ School Director for the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA).? In her role at NIMAA she is responsible for advancing NIMAA’s mission of providing high quality, accessible medical assistant training to individuals in medically and educationally underserved communities, and meeting a critical workforce need for medical assistants prepared to support integrated team-based care.?? Elena has an MA in Community Development from The American University, and a BA from the University of Colorado. In her role at NIMAA she draws on over 20 years of working with community health centers in a variety of capacities, including as Chief Strategy Officer of an FQHC, as PCA staff, and in her consulting work on payment reform, needs assessment and capacity building.
