Managing Emergency Management: A Leader’s Perspective to Make It Work at Your Organization

Date
March 18, 2020

Emergency Management is written in your organization's strategic plan and you deem it important, but is it operational and understood by your staff? The CMS Rule provides guidance and recommendations to create a plan and test it in your organization. Yet, it doesn't account for the limited resources you have -- time and human. Attend this session to learn what you need to know and be doing to be prepared, respond, and recover after a disaster or major disruption.  During this panel discussion, you will hear what Emergency Management should look like at the PCA and health center-level and how leaders successfully incorporate it within their organizations.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify key components of an Emergency Management position.
  • Understand the new CMS Rule and what is required to be compliant.
  • Recommend changes to the current staffing model to ensure Emergency Management is appropriately prioritized.
