Brian Toomey MSW

Mr. Toomey is the Chief Executive Officer of Piedmont Health Services, Inc. (PHS) Coming to the organization from his prior role as Executive Director of Geiger Gibson Community Health Center (Harbor Health Services, Inc.) in Boston. Working with the PHS Board and staff, the organization has grown significantly under his leadership and now has over 500 staff. In his tenure at PHS, he has spearheaded efforts that support the PHS mission, high-quality health care, and organizational financial security. He has focused most on expanding health center services to more individuals in need of access to primary care fostering significant partnerships to work collaboratively around care of underserved populations, including the Carolina HealthNet program with UNC Health Care, the development of a health center-based family medicine training program in collaboration with the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Family Medicine. He is Adjunct Associate Professor of the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Family Medicine.
