Steve Carey Chief Strategy Officer at the National Association of Community Health Centers. Steve has served in key policy positions in both the House and Senate Chambers of the U.S. Congress. Steve has nearly 30 years of Capitol Hill and related federal experience. Before joining NACHC, Steve served as a Legislative Director for two Members of the House Appropriations Committee and as a legislative assistant to the Ranking Member of the House Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Subcommittee. Steve also enjoyed the unique experience of serving as a Legislative Director in the United States Senate for a Member of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and the Armed Services Committee. Steve has worked for NACHC since 2000 and has been published by the American Association for Advancement of Science and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Steve served as the NCOIC of the Classified Material Control Center and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps. Steve is an alumnus of the University of Michigan, he is also a recipient of the Eagle Scout Award and remains active in the community. Steve is a black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate. Steve is married with two children.
