PFC1 - From Policy to Practice: State Policy Approaches to Pressing Health Center Issues

Mar 29, 2019 8:00am ‐ Mar 29, 2019 9:30am

Description

All attention is on the states for activity and innovation in the health policy arena! On issues ranging from coverage to payment, states have become the preferred venue for policymakers to leverage their authority to achieve numerous health policy goals. The renewed focus on the states has amplified the important role that State Primary Care Associations (PCAs) and health center leaders play in tackling the myriad policy issues that can help or hinder a health center’s ability to provide high-quality, affordable care to its patient population. In this session, the audience will hear about specific state level approaches that aim to help health centers navigate both challenges and opportunities affecting their ability to serve patients. The presenters will address important state level developments that impact health centers in the areas of Medicaid and Marketplace waivers, Medicaid GME and the 340B Drug Discount Program.
