Direct Relief is a humanitarian aid organization, founded in 1948 and active in all 50 states and more than 80 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay. Our work in the United States, and with community health centers, began in 2005, in response to Hurricane Katrina. What started as small pilot program, with dozens of health centers in the Gulf States and in California, has now grown to include all 50 U.S. states, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Over the last 15 years of our work in the U.S., Direct Relief has recognized and valued the deep commitment health centers have to their patients. Through this time, we have worked to expand support to over 960 health centers with more than $590 million (wholesale) in medical aid – on an ongoing basis and in response to hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes and storms, and most recently, to support the safety of health centers staff and patients during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to helping patients get access to medicine, Direct Relief has also provided over $60 million in philanthropic funding to health centers – of which $30 million was issued last May through the Covid-19 Response Fund for Community Health. None of this could have been possible without your partnership.

While we can’t see you in person during this CHI, we hope you’ll take the time to hear from your colleagues from around the country through the videos below. Thank you for 15 years of partnership and for your dedication and commitment to the communities you serve.

Thank You
