As the American health care system continues to evolve, so does health center finance. This session will cover recent changes to health center finance at the federal level, as well as notable changes at the state level and in the marketplace in general. We will also evaluate which large future trends, such as the provider shortage and pay-for-performance, will impact health center finance and operations in the near future.

In this session, participants will learn how to tell their health center's story effectively, discuss CHC issues and priorities with different audiences, and become an advocacy champion within their organization.

This session will provide an overview of recent policy developments, particularly around public charge, available tools and resources for both patients and health center staff as well as best practices in place in health centers to more effectively address health care and social service challenges.

The Committee on Health Center Excellence and Training (HCET) assists NACHC to achieve and sustain high performing systems in community health centers, including board governance, community engagement, financial management, clinical operations and leadership development. To do this, the Committee works closely with NACHC to identify training and technical assistance (TTA) needs in the field, and review and provide recommendation on the proposal and work of NACHC. The Committee brings forward any unmet TTA needs.
