HR Information Bulletin: Classifying Workers

Description

Given that there are financial incentives for an employer to classify a worker as an independent contractor as opposed to an employee, this information bulletin 1) focuses on the tests used by the Internal Revenue Service to classify workers, 2) describes worker classification issues raised by other federal and state employment laws, and 3) addresses other considerations regarding worker classification.
