This information bulletin describes documents and records that health centers must retain to assure compliance with federal laws and requirements. Documents that are addressed include corporate tax records, grant-related documents, contracts and purchase agreements, documents related to patient medical records, and records related to medical quality assurance and peer review. The information bulletin includes tips on key features of an effective record retention and destruction policy.

The BPHC Compliance Manual, issued August 2017, indicates where PINS, PALs and other program guidance are now superseded or subsumed by the BPHC Compliance Manual.
