This information bulletin explores why a health center may want to establish a foundation and identifies organizational and operational matters to address as well as "pitfalls" to avoid when organizing a related foundation. In particular, for example, the document addresses risks such as insufficient responsiveness of the foundation to health center priorities and classification as a private foundation versus a public charity.
