Health Center Leaders Encouraging Resilience and Finding Inspiration: David Vliet

Publication Date: May 15, 2020

Description

Inspired by the powerful words of Dan Miller, MD, Physician and Chief of Residency Training and Behavioral Health Integration at Hudson River HealthCare, reminding us that "it's a time for us to lead and act from our hearts and our heads... it's a time for us to maintain rational thought while cleaving still and always to empathy and compassion," NACHC invited several health center leaders to offer further encouragement and inspiration during these extraordinary times as Community Health Centers lead with courage and innovation on the frontlines of COVID-19. They have answered the call!

In this fourth video of the series of Health Center Leaders Encouraging Resilience and Finding Inspiration, David Vliet, MBA, Chief Executive Officer at LifeLong Medical Care in Berkeley, CA draws inspiration from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as he reflects upon how wonderful it is to know that so many health center colleagues have made it their priority during this time of crisis to be Accessible, Responsive, and Engaged (ARE) to communities.
