This factsheet provides an update to 1332 Waivers and Health Centers: Emerging Issues #12, published in June of 2016. Section 1332 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act allows states to waive certain provisions of the ACA in order to implement alternative approaches to coverage options. There have been a number of developments in this field; this update will reiterate topics that remain unchanged and highlight current waiver policy.
