This information bulletin addresses federal employment discrimination laws as they apply to the employee selection process. It also 1) presents examples of the types of questions that should be avoided in a job interview setting, 2) outlines some proven interview strategies that will make an interviewer's task easier and help to ensure compliance with the law, and 3) explains how to lawfully use background checks and social media in the employee selection process.
