Practical Art of Health Center Operations (PAHCO)

Virtual • December 2 - 3, 2025

The Practical Art of Health Center Operations (PAHCO) Workshop is a foundational training designed for front desk and operations leaders who are ready to strengthen their skills and confidence in managing the daily functions of a health center. This two-day virtual program provides a practical grounding in the essentials of operational leadership, giving participants the tools to guide their teams, streamline processes, and support compliance with HRSA requirements.

More than just operational know-how, PAHCO emphasizes how strong management practices directly shape the patient experience and the overall delivery of care. By building consistent habits, fostering teamwork, and developing people- focused leadership, participants will leave better prepared to create an environment where staff feel supported and patients receive timely, high-quality care.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this two-day training, participants will be able to:
> Identify practical strategies to adjust front desk workflows and policies so staff can more easily respond to patient needs in a supportive, patient-centered way.
> Oversee compliant sliding fee workflows at the front desk and ensure consistent application across encounters.
> Explain the role of front desk and practice managers in demonstrating HRSA compliance readiness.
> Run a 10-15-minute daily huddle that aligns the team, prepares for patients, and keeps the day running smoothly.
> Define the key Operational Metrics used in health centers to drive data-driven decisions.
> Identify opportunities to encourage staff development, support succession planning, and improve retention.
