Shameka has worked in public health for over 16 years focusing on community and school health education. Her experience includes developing, implementing, and facilitating programs and training on youth development, health equity, and community-based participatory research. Shameka joined the School-Based Health Alliance (SBHA) in 2021. At SBHA, Shameka serves as the Program Manager for the Youth Safety Net Project which helps school-based and community safety net providers find success using a social determinants of health approach. Additionally, through the Youth Safety Net Project, Shameka provides training and technical assistance opportunities to health centers to engage in shared training and learning to boost health outcomes for school-aged children and adolescents. Shameka enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching holiday movies.
