Saura D. Fortin Erazo, M.D., MBA, is a passionate family medicine physician with nearly 20 years’ experience practicing medicine. She currently serves as the chief medical officer for Eskenazi Health Center, the primary care system of Eskenazi Health. Dr. Fortin Erazo also serves as the vice president of Eskenazi Medical Group, the physician medical group that provides care for seniors, children and families as both inpatients and outpatients. The group has more than 200 physicians, advanced practice providers and staff providing care at the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and at 11 Eskenazi Health Center locations throughout Indianapolis.

Dr. Fortin Erazo has an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, which helped to deepen her insights on business from a health care perspective. She joined the Eskenazi Health team in 2010 as a primary care outpatient staff physician with Eskenazi Medical Group. Prior to becoming chief medical officer, Dr. Fortin Erazo served as the chief physician executive for Eskenazi Health Center Primary Care and Eskenazi Health Center Primary Care - Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. Her other professional experience includes serving as vice-chair on the board of directors for Eskenazi Medical Group and working as an assistant professor of clinical family medicine with the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Fortin Erazo continues to see patients at Eskenazi Health Center Primary Care located in the Sandra Eskenazi Outpatient Care Center on the downtown campus of Eskenazi Health.

Dr. Fortin Erazo received her medical degree in 2002 from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, then completed her family medicine residency in 2010 at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and was recognized by the American Medical Women’s Association with the exceptional mentor award in 2018.
