Sarah Heppner is the Associate Director of the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) in the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In that role, Sarah serves as part of the senior leadership team overseeing the work of the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy, which is charged with advising the HHS Secretary on rural health issues and administers a range of research and capacity-building grant programs that serve rural communities. Sarah has been with FORHP since 2012 and has served in a variety of roles, most recently as the Director of FORHP’s Policy Research Division. Her professional interests include using health services research to understand the impact of policies on access to care in rural communities and rural health disparities. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Sciences with a concentration in Research Management from the University of Vermont.
