Deputy Associate Administrator, BPHC and Acting Director, Office of Quality Improvement, HRSA, Bureau of Primary Health Care
Onyekachukwu Anaedozie was appointed Deputy Associate Administrator for the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) in July 2023. Anaedozie helps manage BPHC’s nearly $6 billion budget, which supports the health care safety net for underserved people across the country. BPHC funds 1,400 health centers that provide comprehensive, culturally competent, quality primary health care to over 30.5 million people.
Anaedozie previously served as the Deputy Associate Administrator of HRSA’s Health Systems Bureau (HSB) for more than three years. She directed federal programs on health care facilities, community-based outreach for COVID-19 vaccinations, vaccine injury compensation, Hansen's disease, and the nationwide organ transplantation network. She also served as Acting Director for HSB’s Division of Poison Control and Healthcare Facilities.
