Mike Ollove

Mike Ollove is a long-time journalist, who most recently covered health policy for Stateline, a news website run by the Pew Charitable Trusts that focuses on public policy. Mike covered a multitude of health policy topics, including COVID-19, Medicaid, health insurance and accessibility, health disparities and public health. Before joining Stateline, Mike had a lengthy career in newspapers at the Roanoke Times and World-News, the Miami Herald, and, for most of his career, at The Baltimore Sun, where he was an enterprise reporter and then editor. He specialized in storytelling, deeply reported, compelling narrative dramas that touched on countless subjects from crime to politics to war to poverty. Many were about human anguish and resilience. In recent years, Mike also did freelance editing on several serial, nonfiction podcasts. Mike grew up in Bangor, Maine and attended the University of Pennsylvania and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
