Michael Topmiller is the Health GIS Research Specialist at HealthLandscape, a division of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) that specializes in developing web-based mapping tools and providing geospatial support for AAFP research. Michael is also a Fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Interdisciplinary Research Leaders program, which joins researchers and community leaders to design research to meet urgent community needs, and to directly apply research to create change. Michael's educational background includes a PhD in Geography from the University of Cincinnati, a MA in Latin American Studies from San Diego State University, and BAs in both Mathematics and Secondary Education from the University of Kentucky.
