Kerrie Barney RN, BSN, MA-ORGL

Kerrie Barney is the Director of Nursing for Cherry Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s in organizational leadership. Her extensive hospital, hospice, physician practice, and consultant experiences provide deep insight into cross-continuum, cross-system complexities. Kerrie strongly advocates for underserved and non-traditional access patients by creating sustainable, aligned processes and eliminating gaps that frustrate patients and those who serve them. Her achievements include a 92% appeal success rate with the CMS ALJ, being part of a Malcolm Baldrige Award winning team, and her work contributions being added to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Playbook in January 2018 as a best practice in the nation for managing complex patients.
