Kameron Matthews MD, JD, FAAFP

Dr. Matthews serves as the Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Community Care at the Veterans Health Administration. In this role, she provides leadership over the national Veterans Affairs Community Care program, which includes community provider network development and relations, quality and utilization management, care integration, medical claims processing, and revenue collections. Prior to joining the VA, she was the Chief Medical Officer of Mile Square Health Center within the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, overseeing 13 FQHC primary care sites. She served as a Medical Director for Managed Care and assisted with the creation of the Medicaid accountable care entity, UI Health Plus.
