Jessie Menkens
Safety Net Initiatives Manager, Alaska Primary Care Association
Jessie Menkens has devoted her career to supporting advocacy, public policy, philanthropy and community building in Alaska. Ms. Menkens joined Alaska Primary Care Association in 2014 to create and oversee a statewide Navigator program. Ms. Menkens successfully helped advocate for Medicaid expansion in Alaska and she recently worked with local stakeholders to create a nonpartisan coalition called Alaskans Together for Medicaid. Ms. Menkens was recognized nationally by Families USA receiving the Health Advocate of the Year Award in 2017. Ms. Menkens educates state and federal officials about the importance of whole person care and the value of Medicaid and other safety net programs.
