Jenene R. Washington MD, MBA, FAAP, PCMH-CCE

Dr. Washington is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with over 20 years of healthcare leadership and experience in practice management, practice transformation and operational excellence in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). She has served in a variety of executive roles, including Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Pediatrics, and Director of Patient Centered Services in FQHCs in Maryland. In these roles, she led multi-disciplinary medical practices that included Primary Care, OB/GYN, School-based Health, and Behavioral Health.

As the CEO of Renaye James Healthcare Advisors, Dr. Washington guides medical practices and healthcare programs to realize quantifiable improvements in revenue, quality, safety, staff engagement and the patient experience by redesigning practice workflows, empowering teams, and educating staff. Dr. Washington has been a regional and national speaker on practice transformation; healthcare diversity and social determinants of health; sexual health; clinical leadership; integrative care; clinician peer review, child welfare; and healthcare access.

Dr. Washington obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Spelman College (Atlanta, Georgia) and her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She obtained a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Medical Services Management from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Dr. Washington is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a PCMH Certified Content Expert by NCQA.
