Esther is chief executive officer of Alivio Medical Centers. She grew up in Chicago, the daughter of diligent and hard-working Mexican parents who encouraged her to aim high and to always serve others.
Esther has spent her entire 40-year career in health care, working in many progressive leadership roles at Mt. Sinai & MacNeal Hospitals, Vanguard Health Systems and Tenet Health.
Returning to her roots, Esther is most proud to be at the helm of Alivio Medical Center whose mission is to serve the immigrant, undocumented and underserved communities of Chicago.
Esther is an active community leader and currently serves on the boards of the Healthy Illinois which recently led an advocacy campaign securing the Nation’s first state funded health care program for low income and undocumented adults 55 years and older. In addition, Esther serves on the board of Medical Home Network ACO and the Pilsen Neighbors Community Council.
