Chris Espersen is a Civil and Human Rights Commissioner and health equity consultant working with healthcare, public health, and civil rights organizations. Chris has provided facilitation, training and TA both domestically and in Asia, Africa, and Latin America around new initiatives, person engagement, data and quality improvement. She taught Social Determinants of Health at the university level and speaks nationally on a variety of topics including anti-racism, SDoH, and topics related to data driven QI. Chris is also an editorial writer for The Gazette in Cedar Rapids. She is primarily interested in advancing civil rights, increasing health equity, and in fostering patient and community activation. Chris has three awe-inspiring children and a less amazing yet still wonderful Husky, and loves to cook, enjoy nature, and read.
