Dr. Arethusa Stevens Kirk is a National Senior Medical Director for UnitedHealthcare Community & State where she serves as the East Region Chief Medical Officer and supports Health Plans to achieve clinical and business objectives. Areas of focus include medical behavioral integration, population health strategy, and clinical innovation. Prior, she was CMO of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Maryland directing clinical initiatives for member-centric care coordination and population health programs.
Dr. Kirk was the Vice President of Medical Affairs at an FQHC in Baltimore, and as a National Health Service Corps Scholar. She practices as a primary care physician and Associate Physician of the Neurology and Development Inpatient Unit at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is board certified in Pediatrics and completed her residency at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital. She holds an honors degree in Visual Arts and Semiotics from Brown University, and an MD from George Washington School of Medicine.
