Alyssa Puia, PharmD, BCACP is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Spanish Language. She completed her post graduate year one residency training at the Holyoke Health Center (HHC) and was then hired as a full time clinical pharmacist. In this role, Alyssa provides a variety of clinical services including medication therapy management (MTM), transitions of care (TOC) and drug therapy management for hypertension and type 2 diabetes via collaborative practice agreement. She is also responsible for coordinating the pharmacist-led immunization services and corresponding grant work in conjunction with NACHC and other partners. Alyssa is a passionate advocate for the underserved, primarily Spanish-speaking patient population at HHC as one of the two bilingual pharmacists on staff. She also enjoys training pharmacy students and residents and serves as a preceptor for local colleges of pharmacy and the HHC pharmacy residency program.
